FLIR
THERMAL FENCE
The FLIR Thermal Fence uses state-of-the-art FLIR thermal imaging cameras and FLIR Sensors Manager software to instantly detect and clearly reveal intrusions along perimeter fence lines and within secure areas. It is generally far less expensive and more effective than installing a new physical barrier or lighting infrastructure.
Features & Benefits
- Thermal imaging cameras make pictures from small differences in temperature, rather than visible light, so they can see clearly in total darkness and through smoke, dust, light fog, foliage, and other obscurants. Thermal imaging complements existing security systems, making the unseeable visible!
- FLIR cameras are IP addressable, so they can easily be added to an existing network, or networked using the FLIR Sensors Manager. This comprehensive software package manages alarms from third-party fence sensors, seismic sensors, radar, fiber nets, and more.
- FLIR pan-and-tilt cameras feature integral geo-referenced mapping and a unique slew-to-cue function, which commands the camera to point at the precise coordinates of any alarm. Customized rules for trip wires, exclusion zones, temperature alarms, and directional alarming minimize false alarms.
- All of your security network activity can be monitored on a single, convenient display for rapid detection and threat assessment.
Thermal Fence Layout Example (Nuclear Facility)
Click the image at left to see a typical layout for a Thermal Fence, in this case using eight thermal imaging cameras to form a network or "Thermal Fence" that monitors both the facility perimeter and area within the perimeter. "Exclusion zones" are sub-areas where monitoring is not wanted.
Actual Thermal Images
See equally well in daylight or total darkness! Thermal imagers don’t see visible light, they see small differences in temperature—and you can’t hide your body heat!
