SpanGUARD Rovel ABS - Applications
APPLICATION

The FAA recommends that
36" markers be used on high, hazardous river crossings.
Smaller 20" markers are permitted on less extensive
power lines or on lines in approaches to airports below
50 feet. Each marker should be a solid color: aviation
orange, white, or yellow with alternating colors.
PREFORM ATTACHMENT
The secret of the
SpanGUARD is its unique construction and method of
attachment. SpanGUARDs are fastened to the conductor by
means of spiral formed armor rods. These spiral rods
actually reinforce the conductor at the point of
attachment and are completely slip-proof. They are
designed to protect the conductor. SpanGUARDs can be
installed in a matter of minutes without special tools.
BETTER COLOR RETENTION
SpanGUARDs are the best
power line markers on the market. Each marker is
constructed of Rovel ABS, a material that has 10 times
the weatherability and color retention of fiberglass.
Rovel ABS is much more durable, and unlike fiberglass,
will not crack if struck by gunshots. SpanGUARDs are
available in three colors: International Orange, White
and Yellow.
SpanBRITE OPTION
Reflective tape can be
installed on the markers to make markers more visible at
night from helicopters and small planes. The
flashing lights of the aircraft make the light reflected
from the marker visible to the pilot.
