Model MM
Aluminum- Power Line
Markers
P
& R Technologies introduces the new Model 36MM Power
Line Marker, primarily to meet the need for a marker
on the new ACCS conductors and high voltage
applications. ACCS conductors are rated at up
to 250° C (482° F), a temperature that will possibly
melt plastic and fiberglass power line markers. The
Model 36MM is a 36” diameter metal marker, tested to
500KV.
The new Model 36MM is aluminum, which
can withstand the higher temperatures and voltages
and weighs only 20 lbs, much less than fiberglass
markers. The Model 36MM is attached to the line with
spiral wire perform, proven reliable in 40 years of
service. Long life is insured by the rugged
construction of the aluminum marker.
The SpanGuard Model 36MM is available
in powder coated polyester colors recommended by the
FAA, namely international orange, yellow and white.
Powder coating insures good adhesion and better
color retention for 10-20 years.
NEW!
SpanGUARD MODEL 36MM POWER LINE MARKERS
SpanGUARD line markers make overhead power lines
visible to low flying aircraft, protecting valuable
power lines and saving lives. SpanGUARD markers have
been in service since 1950, secured to the power
line by spiral perform wire. Over 600 utilities are
using SpanGUARD markers and all are repeat
customers.
PREFORM ATTACHMENT
The secret of the SpanGUARD 36MM is
its unique construction method of attachment.
SpanGUARDS are fastened to the conductor by means of
spiral formed armor rods. These spiral rods actually
reinforce the conductor at the point of attachment
and prevent the marker from slipping on the line.
They are designed to protect the conductor.
SpanGUARDs can be installed in a matter of minutes
without special tools.
IMPROVED
FEATURES
The new SpanGUARD Model MM
construction is a great improvement. Helinut locking
assemblies are provided so that the far side bolts
are installed on the ground, the markers slipped
over the line clam-shell-wise, and the installer
does not have to worry about loose nuts, bolts and
washers to assemble the marker up in the air. He
simply uses a wrench to tighten the near side
Helinuts.
Optional SpanBRITE reflective tape can be
installed on the markers to make markers more
visible at night from helicopters and small planes.
The landing lights of the aircraft make the light
reflected from the markers visible to the pilot.
OPTIONAL STAINLESS HARDWARE
Utilities near salt-water bodies
often specify Stainless Steel Bolts in order to
prevent corrosion of standard galvanized bolts.
